Nicola was admitted to the bar in 1987 and has practiced as a barrister since 2000. She has extensive civil litigation experience including general civil litigation, Commerce Act and Fair Trading Act enforcement proceedings and appeals. She also has considerable experience in commercial arbitrations and mediations, family law, criminal law and local authority enforcement.

Since commencing practice at the bar, a significant focus of her practice has been on trade practices and consumer law and the provision of advice to participants in the electricity industry on regulatory issues and commercial disputes. In that regard she has experience in both the conduct and management of large litigation involving senior counsel.

In 2006 Nicola was appointed an Adjudicator of the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal. As an Adjudicator, Nicola is responsible for inquiry into and determination of disputes between consumers and traders pursuant to the Fair Trading Act, Consumer Guarantees Act and the Sale of Goods Act.
